Stacey West Jewellery – Stacey’s award winning contemporary jewellery is directly influenced by the artistry of the raw organic Cornish coastline and rugged countryside, but is also informed by the physical and visual properties of the variety of material the environment presents.
The “Found Treasures” collection is inspired by the many hours Stacey has spent beach combing and plays with the idea of finding something beautiful within an otherwise worthless material as well as highlighting the misconceptions of the processes within the gemstone industry. Pewter and sterling silver are used to create a contrasting combination of geometric shape and organic form as gemstones look to be emerging from the uneven surface. Winner of Pewter Live 2015 and High Commendation from the giftware association.
The “Reflection Collection” draws inspiration from sculptural fine art and vibrant colour to develop contemporary pieces that explore distortion within reflection. One element of a piece is repeated, reflected and fragmented through distortion, creating a visual echo that plays with perception. Chrome plated copper domes reflect and distort the vibrant underside surface colours of enamelled domes, finished with sterling silver findings.
Stacey’s latest collection, which has been exhibited at London Design Fair and selected for Handmade in Britain in Chelsea, encourages the wearer to interact with movable textured interlocking glass and metal elements. Caged within a handcrafted sterling silver structure the elements move freely and satisfyingly interlock, creating an experience for the wearer, whilst retaining a luxury aesthetic inspired by the lines, textures and colours found in the stratified cliffs of the beautiful beaches in north Cornwall. Each piece is cast from a rock texture straight off the Cornish coast.
Stacey’s work also includes beautiful silver and gemstone pieces.
